Still Standing
How to Heal, Adapt, and Reclaim Your Sense of Self When Life Changes the Rules
Service Description
What happens when illness, trauma, or burnout changes the rules—and “pushing through” stops working? In I’m Still Standing, Lauren Wu shares a deeply human, story-driven keynote about what real healing and resilience look like when recovery is nonlinear and capacity changes. Drawing from lived experience with childhood trauma, near-death medical events, sudden disability, and long-term recovery, as well as her background as a senior executive, Lauren reframes strength as adaptation, not endurance. Through narrative and practical reflection, this session helps audiences let go of timelines and self-blame, reclaim agency, and learn how small, sustainable shifts can restore stability, identity, and hope. Attendees leave feeling steadier, more capable, and less alone, with repeatable tools for navigating health challenges, major transitions, and periods of profound change. This talk is for anyone whose life no longer looks the way they planned and who is still standing. Drawing on lived experience recovering from a major health event, occupational therapy principles, and the practical use of AI as an accessibility tool, this talk reframes leadership as an act of design. Attendees will learn how AI can reduce cognitive load and support sustainable performance, how leaders can proactively respond to external pressures without sacrificing psychological safety, and how allyship can be embedded into everyday leadership practices without requiring disclosure. This session offers leaders practical strategies to build more adaptive, inclusive, and high-performing workplaces, where people can continue to contribute even when capacity changes.
